Before:
Problem - A shallow backyard with a drainage issue in Oak Hill. There is no level area and the back door is six feet above grade. How can we create a nice back yard and have a deck that doesn't dominate and divide the space?
After:
Solution - Call in the design professionals at Hidden Lane Landscaping & Design, Inc. The key to this whole project was creating three steps down from the house to the deck. This allows the deck to nestle into the landscape and unify the site instead of dividing it. Despite the small back yard, the different levels create a sense of spaciousness. The stone, wood and plantings blend together to compose a soothing and secluded place to play and entertain.
Result - A private, picturesque and functional setting has arisen from a modest beginning. This quiet retreat appears to have grown naturally from the site. |
